Buyers searching for supplement bottles wholesale, pill bottles in bulk, capsule bottles or vitamin bottles wholesale are almost always filling capsules, tablets, gummies or powders on a production schedule. The questions that decide the order are practical: PET or HDPE, packer or Boston round, which neck finish and liner, which closure, and whether the stock is already in the United States with the compliance paperwork your QA file needs. This guide sets out the plastic supplement containers Zenith Nutra Products holds in Ronkonkoma, Long Island, New York, and how to specify them.

In short: Zenith stocks PET packer bottles in 30, 50, 60, 100, 150, 200, 250, 500, 750 and 1000 ml, clear or amber, in packer (wide mouth) and Boston round styles with 28-400 to 53-400 necks, and food-grade HDPE powder jars from 100 ml to 5 L, white or natural, with 53-400 to 100-400 wide mouths. Closures come smooth, ribbed, child-resistant or flip-top, with foil induction seal, PE foam or pressure-sensitive liners. The minimum order is 1 pallet (count varies by size), with volume pricing on multiple pallets, and stocked items typically dispatch within 3–7 business days from US stock. Prices are quoted per order — request a quote with capacity, material, colour, neck finish, closure, liner and quantity.

Pill bottles, capsule bottles, packers and jars: which container is which?

The trade uses several names for the same few containers. A “pill bottle”, “capsule bottle” or “vitamin bottle” for retail supplements is usually a packer bottle: a straight-sided round bottle with a wide mouth so capsules and tablets fill and pour freely. Powders and large counts go into wide-mouth jars that take a scoop. Pharmacy prescription vials (push-and-turn dram vials) are a different format and are not part of the Zenith range.

PET or HDPE for supplements?

PET is glass-clear, so the product is visible, which suits retail and e-commerce presentation, and it weighs roughly 10% of equivalent glass. HDPE is opaque but offers a slightly better moisture barrier and costs less at larger sizes. For capsules and gummies sold on shelf, PET usually wins; for bulk powders, HDPE. Amber PET gives useful light protection, though somewhat less than amber glass; for highly photosensitive actives with a long shelf life, amber glass remains the safer choice.

Whichever resin you choose, a foil induction seal is strongly recommended for hygroscopic contents: it provides tamper evidence and a genuine moisture barrier that a cap alone cannot deliver.

Neck finish, closure and liner: get the match right

A neck finish such as 38-400 gives the closure diameter in millimetres (38) and the thread style (400). The closure and liner must be ordered in the same finish as the bottle, so put the finish on every line of the RFQ. A few practical points:

  • Induction seal liners need an induction sealer on your line. If you do not have one, specify PE foam or pressure-sensitive liners instead, and say so on the quote.
  • Child-resistant closures are offered for both PET bottles and HDPE jars; specify them where your product or market requires child-resistant packaging, and ask for the closure documentation on the quote.
  • Flip-top closures suit products dispensed often; ribbed or smooth screw caps suit standard capsule and tablet SKUs.
  • Wide mouths (53-400 and above on jars) leave room for a scoop and for automatic filling heads.

Choosing capacity for a capsule or tablet count

Bottle capacity depends on the capsule size, the count and the headspace you want for cotton, desiccant or a scoop. Rather than guess, send the capsule or tablet size, the count per bottle and whether a desiccant goes in, and we will recommend a capacity and neck finish from stock. For capsule dimensions, see our capsule size chart (000–4); the empty capsules themselves can ship on the same purchase order.
