Gelatin Capsule Encapsulation

Hard gelatin capsules are still the most widely used capsule in the world, and for good reason. They are inexpensive, dissolve quickly in the stomach, form a good barrier against oxygen, and run fast and reliably on automatic fillers. For any product without a vegetarian claim, a gelatin shell is usually the most economical way to put a powder, granule or pellet blend into a capsule.

We specify the gelatin source to match your market and your label: bovine gelatin for general and halal-certified products, fish gelatin for pescatarian claims, and porcine gelatin where it is acceptable. Each shell lot comes with its certificate of analysis and source documentation (including BSE/TSE statements for bovine gelatin), so the claim on your label is backed by paperwork. Shells can be clear, coloured, opaque or two-tone, and banded for tamper evidence.
