Product overview

Beef liver is the anchor product of the ancestral-nutrition category, and the one where sourcing differences show up most clearly. Ours comes from cattle grass-fed for life on New Zealand pasture — not pasture-raised then grain-finished — and is freeze-dried below 45°C to protect the heat-sensitive vitamins and cofactors that make liver worth taking at all.

The material is undefatted, so the fat-soluble vitamin content, particularly preformed vitamin A, is retained rather than stripped in processing. Colour is a reliable indicator of how a liver powder was made: correctly freeze-dried material is a deep reddish brown. Grey or near-black powder has been heat-dried.

Every lot ships with country of origin, the processing facility, a BSE/TSE-free statement referencing New Zealand's negligible-risk status, and a complete microbiological panel.

Questions about Grass-Fed Beef Liver Powder (Freeze-Dried)

Is this liver powder defatted?

No. It is undefatted, which retains the fat-soluble vitamins — notably preformed vitamin A — that are the main reason buyers choose liver. Defatted material flows better and keeps longer but has lost much of that content.

How many capsules does one kilogram fill?

A size 00 capsule holds roughly 500–600 mg of freeze-dried liver powder depending on tamping, so one kilogram fills approximately 1,700 to 2,000 capsules. We can encapsulate under our contract manufacturing programme if you would rather receive finished goods.

Why is the colour important?

Colour indicates the drying method. Properly freeze-dried liver powder is a deep reddish brown. Grey, dull or near-black powder has almost always been spray or drum dried at high temperature, which degrades the heat-sensitive nutrients buyers are paying for.

Can we make this to your specification?

Yes. Mesh size, assay strength, blend ratio, packaging format and label are all specifiable. We are your turnkey manufacturing partner — if you need this material milled differently, blended with another active, or delivered as a finished encapsulated product under your own brand, that is ordinary work for us rather than an exception.
